Grace McLaughlin was born on September 5, 1995. She trained at Byers Roseville in California. She moved to WOGA in Texas before the 2006 season. She currently trains at WOGA.
In 2003, Grace competed as a level five. She finished sixth on bars. In 2005, Grace competed as a level seven. She finished fourth all-around and third on vault at the Flips USA Invitational. At States, she placed fourth all-around. She also finished second on vault. With her new gym, she moved up to level eight in 2006. She won a bronze medal on floor at the Universal Invitational. She finished second on beam at the State Qualifier. Grace ended her season at States.
Grace moved up to level nine in 2007. She finished third on vault and third all-around at the WOGA Classic Classic. She placed fourth all-around at the maryland Classic. She won a silver medal on bars in event finals. At the AOGC Invitational, Grace won the all-around title! She also won golds on bars and floor. She finished second all-around at the San Antonio Riverwalk. At States, she placed second on bars and fourth all-around. She won floor at Regionals! She also won a bronze on bars. At Westerns, Grace finished sixth on floor.
She moved up to level ten in 2008. She finished fourth on vault at the WOGA Classic. Grace won a silver medal on bars and a bronze medal on beam at the Metroplex Challenge. At the AOGC Invitational, she won a gold on bars and a silver on floor. She finished fourth all-around at the Texas Prime Meet.
She started 2009 by winning bars and floor at the Texas Prime Meet. She placed second all-around. At her next meet, the Metroplex Challenge, she qualified to junior international elite! She finished second all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won balance beam. She then won vault, bars, floor and the all-around with a 38.000 at the Great West Gym Fest. Grace won uneven bars and placed second on floor at the Byers Invitational. At the American Classic, she finished second on uneven bars. She also qualified for the US National Championships! In July, Grace traveled Des Moines, Iowa for the US Classic, where she finished 10th in the all-around as well as second on uneven bars in a very tough field of competitors. On the first day of the VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas, Grace placed impressive fifth in the all-around and first on uneven bars. Unfortunately, falls on the second day kept Grace out from making the Junior US National Team. She placed 13th overall and won a bronze medal on uneven bars.
Grace began her 2010 season at the WOGA Classic where she won the all-around title as well as first on uneven bars and balance beam. At the Houston National Invitational, she placed third in the all-around and third on balance beam and floor exercise. Grace then concluded her 2010 season at the Texas National Elite Qualifier in Huntsville, Texas where she won the all-around title with a 56.600 and first on uneven bars scoring a 14.650. After the Texas Elite Qualifier, she changed her focus to healing her injury, so she did not compete at the US Covergirl Classic or VISA Championships.
In 2011, Grace returned to competing at the Houston National Inviational where she helped the WOGA team to win the team title after scoring a 9.9 on uneven bars! On the next day, Grace was competing in the international session and finished fifth in the all-around and third on balance beam. At the Disney National Elite Qualifier in Florida, Grace swept gold medals and qualified to senior international elite status. A few weeks later, she finished first in the all-around and second on balance beam at the American Classic. This qualified Grace to the VISA Championships in St. Paul, MN. In July, Grace traveled to Chicago, IL for the US Covergirl Classic and finished in the top ten on uneven bars and balance beam. She concluded her 2011 season at the VISA Championships where she finished tenth on balance beam and in the all-around. In September, she was named to the US National Team and to the Pan Am Games team. She helped the United States win a gold medal.
