Sydney Makarri Doggette was born on September 11, 2000. She trains at Buckeye Gymnastics. She has two older sisters that were also gymnasts. Jayla was a level nine and Brooklyn competed level ten.

In 2007, Makarri competed level four. She won floor at the Buckeye Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Makarri moved up to level five in 2008. She finished second all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she won all five gold medals. She finished first on vault, floor and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars and the all-around. Makarri competed level six in the fall. She won bars and the all-around at the Fall State Championships.

Makarri continued competing level six in 2009. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the CGA coaches Spectacular. She won the same events at the Buckeye Classic. She then moved up to level seven, winning vault at the Buckeye Classic. At the Palm Beach Invitational, she placed first on vault. She also won vault at the State Championships. She made the National TOPs Team. She moved up to level eight in 2010. She finished first on floor at the Universal Galaxy meet. At the CGA Coaches Spectacular, she won vault and floor. Makarri finished second all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and Buckeye Classic. At the For Love or Money meet, she won vault and placed second all-around. Makarri won vault, floor and the all-around at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed second on vault and bars. She competed at Regionals. She made the National TOPs "B" Team.

She moved up to level nine in 2011. She finished third all-around at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. At the Universal Galaxy meet, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Makarri finished third on vault and floor at the Buckeye Classic. She finished in the top ten all-around at Regionals. She qualified to hopes elite at the US Open Championships.
