Mykle Douglas was born on February 3, 1991. She has dual citizenship with Canada. During her club career, Mykle competed for WOGA. She graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2003, Mykle competed level eight. She finished second on vault at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2004. She won floor at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished 13th all-around. Mykle began competing level ten in 2005. She won floor at the California Classic. She finished third on floor and 21st all-around at JO Nationals. In 2006, Mykle won vault and floor at the AOGC Invitational. She finished first on vault, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. Mykle placed fifth on floor and eleventh all-around at JO Nationals.

Mykle continued competing level ten in 2007. She won floor at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed third on floor and tenth all-around. Mykle won vault, floor and the all-around at the 2008 WOGA Classic. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Dragon Invitational. At the Houston National Invitational, Mykle finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around. Mykle won floor at the State Championships. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed sixth on beam and 21st all-around. In 2009, she won floor at the State Championships. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed fifth on vault, ninth on beam, second on floor and sixth all-around.

As a freshman at Arizona in 2010, Mykle competed on floor in eight meets. She won floor against Cal. Mykle also exhibitioned on vault against Minnesota.
