Mia Fowler was born on May 3, 1998. She trains at Shooting Stars in North Carolina. She will graduate from high school in 2016.

In the fall of 2005, Mia competed level four. She placed second on floor and seventh all-around at the State Championships. Mia competed level five in 2006. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Kozeev's Classic. She won all five gold medals at the Harvest Hoedown. She moved up to level six for the fall 2007 season. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. In 2009, Mia competed level seven. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Judges Cup. Mia won vault at the Flip Fest Invitational. At the Hilton Head Island Invitational, she won vault and placed second all-around. Mia won bars and floor at the Hearts Invitational. At the Tiger Paw Classic, she won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. Mia placed fourth all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She finished first on vault and fourth all-around at the State Championships. She won the all-around title at the Region 8 Invitational.

Mia began competing level eight in 2010. She finished first on beam at the Tiger Paw Classic. She won beam and the all-around at the Greensboro Invitational. At the Excalibur Cup, she placed first on floor and second all-around. Mia finished first on vault and second all-around at the Charleston Cup. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on vault, beam and floor. She finished third all-around. Mia continued competing level eight in 2011. She won bars at the Flip Fest Invitational. At the Greensboro Invitational, she won vault and floor. Mia placed first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Excalibur Cup. She won vault, beam and the all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the National Gymnastics Challenge, she placed third all-around. Mia finished first on vault and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first on vault and third all-around.
