Hannah Michels was born on June 19, 1995. She trains at Team Olympia Gymnastics in North Carolina. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2005, Hannah competed level five. She finished third all-around at the Harvest Hoe Down. She placed third on floor at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2006. Hannah won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Starlite Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Survivor Invitational. Hannah placed second all-around at the State Championships. In 2008, Hannah competed level seven. She went undefeated in the all-around, including winning bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships.

Hannah competed level eight in 2009. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Judges Cup. Hannah won vault at the Atlanta Crown Invitational and bars and beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the WOGA Classic, Hannah placed first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around. She scored a perfect ten on balance beam! At the State Championships, she won beam, floor and the all-around. Hannah won vault, floor and the all-around at Regionals. She competed level nine in 2010. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Judges Cup. Hannah won floor at both the Tiger Paw Invitational and Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she finished first on beam, floor and the all-around. Hannah won floor at Regionals.
