Alexis Monier was born on November 7, 1998. She has a sister Mackenzie who has also participated in gymnastics. Lexie began gymnastics at Gymnastics World East at the age of four. She moved to Tumbleweeds with most of her team in the spring of 2010.

In 2005, Lexie made the Diamond National TOPs Team. She competed level four in 2006. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Fiesta Bowl. At the Flagstaff Winter Classic, she won floor and placed second all-around. She moved up to level five for the fall season. She finished fifth all-around at the Fall Round Up. She won bars. She also made her second TOPs Diamond Team. She continued competing level five in the spring of 2007. She finished second all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. She swept the gold medals at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the California Classic, she won bars, floor and the all-around. She ended her season by winning floor at the Spring State Championships. She finished second all-around.

Lexie moved up to level six for the fall season. She finished third all-around at the PGA Halloween meet. At States, she won beam. She finished fourth all-around. Lexie made the National TOPs "B" Team. She immediately moved into level seven competition in 2008. She won floor at the Winter Sun Invitational. At the California Classic, she won everything besides placing second on vault. At the Cactus Cup, she finished first all-around. Lexie placed third all-around at States. She won silver medals on bars and beam. She made her second National TOPs "B" Team in the fall. Lexie continued competing level seven in 2009. She won bars, beam and the all-around at both the Winter Sun Invitational and Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She swept the gold medals at the Kim Bird Invitational. Lexie repeated this feat at States. In the fall, Lexie made her third TOPs "B" Team.

In 2010, Lexie competed one meet as a level eight, winning bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. She then began competing level nine. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. Lexie won bars and beam at the Kim Bird Invitational. At States, she won bars and placed second all-around. At Regionals, she won bars and finished second all-around. She ended her season at Westerns with a top ten finish. She placed fourth on bars.
