Lindsey Morgan Montross was born in Palo Alto, California on October 4, 1988. She is the daughter of Peter and Sandy. She trains at Pozsar's Gymnastics until 2003. She then began competing for Gymstars Stockton. She was injured in 2003. Lindsey moved to Technique Gymnastics after the 2005 season.
In 2001, she competed as a level nine. She qualified to the Western Championships by placing third all-around at Regionals. She won bars and finished second on vault and floor at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2002. Lindsey won floor at the Flips USA Invitational. In 2004, Lindsey won four titles at the Level 10 State Championships. At Regionals, she finished second on bars and floor. Her final meet of the season was the JO National Championships. Lindsey finished within the top twenty all-around with a fall on beam. She placed second on floor.
She continued competing as a level ten in 2005. She finished fifth all-around at States. Lindsey placed second on floor at Regionals. At the JO National Championships, she finished seventh on vault. With her new gym in 2006, she had a phenomenal season. She finished third all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and second all-around at the Golden State Classic. Lindsey finished third all-around at the Level 10 State Championships. She won bars and floor. At Regionals, she won floor and finished second all-around. Her final club meet was the JO National Championships. Lindsey finished fifteenth all-around.
As a freshman at Penn State, she competed in twelve meets. She was mainly a bars specialist but also saw compted on vault, beam and floor. She placed in the top five on bars four times. She finished second against NC State and first against Pittsburgh. As a sophomore, she competed on bars six times. She also competed on beam. Lindsey only competed on bars once in 2009. She missed most of the season with an injury.
