Kaitlin Moorhead was born on April 29, 1992. She trained at Twisters through the 2003 season. She then moved to Airborne. Kaitlin graduated form high school in 2010.

In 2003, Kaitlin competed level eight. She finished tenth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. After a two year competition break, Kaitlin returned in 2006 with Airborne. She again qualified to Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2007. She finished first on bars and the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational> Kaitlin finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished eleventh at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished 21st all-around.

She began competing level ten in 2008. She finished second at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fourth all-around. Kaitlin finished 29th all-around at JO Nationals. In 2009, she won floor at the Tachi Palace Invitational. She won the all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won bars and floor at the Long Beach Open. Kaitlin won bars at the State Championships. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished 17th all-around. In 2010, Kaitlin won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished third all-around at Regionals. She did not compete at JO Nationals.
