Morgan Schmaltz was born on May 31, 1995. Her twin sister, Madeline, is also a gymnast. They both train at Chow's Gymnastics. Morgan will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2007, Morgan competed level eight. She finished third all-around at the GymQuarters Invitational. She finished in the top twenty at Regionals. She continued competing level eight in 2008. She placed third all-around at the National Judges Cup. She won the all-around title at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on beam and sixth all-around.

She moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished first on floor at the Chow's Rising Stars Invitational. She placed fourth on bars and beam at the Northern Lights Invitational. She won vault and beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, Morgan finished fourth all-around. She won beam. Morgan finished eighth all-around at Westerns. She did not compete all-around in 2010. She won bars and floor, her only events, at the Chow's Rising Stars Invitational. She won the only event she competed, bars, at Regionals.
