Maddie Tom was born on August 13, 1996. She trains at Peninsula Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2004, Maddie competed level five. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2005. She finished third all-around at the Meet By The Bay meet. At the Zone Championships, she placed third on vault. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. In 2006, she won beam and the all-around at the State Championships. Maddie immediately began competing level seven in 2007. She finished first on beam at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed third on floor at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the State Championships, she finished fifth all-around.

Maddie competed level eight in 2008. She won vault at the Gold Country Classic, Golden State Classic and Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She placed third on vault at the State Championships. Maddie finished sixth all-around at Regionals. Maddie moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished third on vault at the Valentine Invitational. She placed third on vault, first on floor and third all-around at the State Championships. She finished in the top fifteen at Regionals. In 2010, Maddie placed second all-around at the Black Tie Invitational. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. She placed third on floor at Regionals. At Westerns, Maddie placed sixth on beam. She finished tenth all-around. Maddie began competing level ten in 2011. She placed second on vault at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed third on bars at the National Gymnastics Festival. At the State Championships, she placed in the top ten all-around.
