Alexis Mura was born on October 9, 1995. She trained at Docksiders Gymnastics in Maryland through the 2004 season. She then began training at World Class Gymnastics Center in Illinois. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2003, Alexis competed level five. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2004. She finished third on vault at the State Championships. In 2005, Alexis competed level seven. She qualified for the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2006. She finished second all-around at the GymQuarters Invite. Alexis competed level nine in 2008. She finished fifth on bars at the IGI Chicago Style. At Regionals, she placed fourth on vault and sixth all-around. Alexis placed sixth on vault and 16th all-around at Easterns.
She began competing level ten in 2009. She placed third on bars and floor at the Gymquarters Invite. She finished second all-around at Regionals. Alexis competed at JO Nationals. In 2010, she placed third at both the World Class Gateway Challenge and Meet Me in St. Louis meet. At the St. Louis Classic, she won beam. Alexis placed second on beam and third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed in the top ten. She ended her season at JO Nationals. Alexis finished first on beam at the 2011 Crossroads Classic. She won the all-around title at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Gateway Challenge and Nashville Nights meet. At Regionals, she finished first on bars and tenth all-around. Alexis finished tenth all-around at the JO National Invitational Tournament.
