Molly Young was born on February 12, 2001. Her older sister, Haylee is also a gymnast. Molly began training at Georgia All-Stars. She spent two years with Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta from 2007 to 2008. In August of 2010, Molly moved to Iowa and began training with Chow's Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2019.
In 2008, Molly competed level six. She finished fourth on beam at the Metro Retro Invitational. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. In December 2009, she placed fourth all-around at the Optional Kick-Off meet. She competed level eight the remainder of the 2010 season. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Winter Blast. At the Tampa Bay Turners meet, she won bars. Molly won the all-around title at the Mardi Gras Invitational. At the Spring Break-Out meet, she placed first on vault and the all-around. Molly won vault and bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first on vault and fourth all-around.
Molly moved up to level nine in 2011. She finished second on floor at the Northern Lights Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars and third all-around. She finished third all-around at Regionals. She competed at Westerns where she placed tenth on bars.
