Vinessa Narvaez was born on November 15, 1995. She trained at USA Elite Gymnastics until 2005. She then trained at Gymstars Modesto for one season. Vinessa then moved to Diablo Gymnastics. She followed her coaches to Edge after the 2008 season.

Vinessa began competing level four in the fall of 2002. She finished eighth all-around at the Salute to Gymnastics Greats meet. In 2003, She finished 12th all-around at the Ice Breaker meet. She placed sixth all-around at the Clovis Classic. She moved up to level five in 2004. She finished eighth all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished seventh all-around at the Zone Championships. At the State Championships, Vinessa finished in the top fifteen. She competed level six in the spring of 2005. She finished in the top ten at the Mardi Gras Invitational.

She moved up to level seven for the 2006 season. She competed at the Flips USA Invitational, Golden Gate Classic and Hard Rock Invitational. Vinessa placed second on vault at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. She competed level eight in 2008. Vinessa placed fourth all-around at the Wine Country Classic and California Classic. She finished second on vault at both the California Classic and Golden State Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second on beam. Vinessa competed at Regionals.

In 2009, Vinessa finished first on beam and the all-around at the Roseville Invitational. She placed second all-around at the Winter Invitational. She won the all-around title at the Black Tie Invitational. Vinessa finished second all-around at the Golden State Classic. At the State Championships, she placed fourth on floor. She finished third on beam at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished second all-around at the Roseville Invitational. Vinessa placed third all-around at the Black Tie Invitational. At the Byers Invitational, she won beam. She finished second on vault at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on vault and beam. Vinessa finished second on vault and beam at Westerns! She finished sixth all-around.

Vinessa continued competing level nine in 2011. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Delta Classic. She finished third all-around at the National Gymnastics Festival.
