Stacey Nicolini was born on July 30, 1989. She trained at Rohnert Park Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2007.

In 2003, Stacey competed level ten. She finished in the top fifteen all-around at Regionals. In 2005, Stacey finished first all-around at the Wine Country Classic. She won floor and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the State Championships, she won vault. She placed second all-around. She finished in the top fifteen all-around at Regionals. In 2006, Stacey finished third all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She won vault at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished eighth all-around. She placed seventh on beam and 24th all-around at JO Nationals. Stacey placed first on vault, bars and the all-around at both the Lady Luck Invitational and San Diego Classic in 2007. At the Wine Country Classic, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. Stacey won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the Byers Invitational, she placed first on vault and the all-around. Stacey placed second on vault at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first on vault and fourth all-around. She finished 25th all-around at JO Nationals.

As a freshman at Davis in 2008, Stacey earned All-MPSF honors on vault, beam and the all-around. She won MPSF Gymnast of the Week at the end of February. Stacey competed in the all-around throughout the season. She won beam against Cal State Fullerton. She earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-American honors. In 2009, Stacey won vault at the MPSF Championships. She competed on beam eleven times. Stacey was an MPSF All-Academic honoree and a NACGC/W Scholastic All-American. Stacey redshirted the 2010 season due to injury. She returned in 2011, competing in the all-around eight times.
