Allyson Nied was born on August 1, 1997. She has a sister Christa who also participates in gymnastics. She trains at Texas Dreams in Coppell, Texas.

In 2004, Allyson was named to the Diamond National TOP Team. This is for seven and eight year-olds. In 2005, she was named to the National TOPs Diamond Team again as an eight-year-old. She competed as a level seven during the 2006 season. She finished third on beam at the IGI Chicago Style. She was named to the National TOPs Team in the fall.

Allyson moved up to level eight in 2007. She finished third on bars at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Circle of Stars Invitational, she finished second all-around. She was also second on vault, bars and beam. She made her fourth National TOPs Team in the fall. She moved up to level nine in 2007. She also qualified to hopes pre-elite. She struggled with injuries throughout 2008 and 2009. She decided to retire from gymnastics in the summer of 2009.
