Samantha Ogden was born on March 21, 1998. She trained at Wausau YMCA in Wisconsin before moving to Texas. She then began training at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics. After the 2009 season, Samantha moved to Metroplex. In the fall of 2011, Samantha moved to WOGA. She will graduate from high school in 2016.
In 2009, Samantha competed level eight. She finished third all-around at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. She moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished fourth on bars at the Texas Prime meet. Samantha also placed fourth on bars at the Houston National Invitational. She finished eleventh all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2011. She finished fourth all-around at the Tiger Classic. She placed third on floor at the Metroplex Challenge. At the IGI Chicago Style, she finished third all-around. Samantha placed first on bars and second all-around at the WOGA Classic. At the Alamo Classic, she won bars and the all-around. Samantha won bars and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fourth on bars and beam.
She started her 2012 season at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational in Arizona, finishing first on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. At the WOGA Classic, she placed second in the all-around and first on uneven bars. She placed second in the all-around as well as first on uneven bars at the Texas Prime Meet. Samantha then traveled to Houston, Texas for the Houston National Invitational. She helped the WOGA team to place first at the Team Cup, winning $5,000 for the gym. On the next day, she finished first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around in the Junior A session. At the Level 10 State Championships, Sam placed first in the all-around and second on balance beam. She did well at the Region 3 Championships, finishing second on uneven bars and in the all-around. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Hampton, VA where she placed 11th in the all-around, second on uneven bars and third on balance beam.
