Emily Oglesby was born on February 16, 1998. She trained at Maximum Athletics until the 2008 season. Emily now trains at WGA Texans.
In 2005, Emily competed as a level six. She competed at the South State Championships. She moved up to level seven in 2007. She finished fifth on beam at the Svetlanta Invitational. She advanced to level nine in 2008. At the Metroplex Challenge, she won beam. She placed second on bars and in the all-around. She won floor and the all-around at the South Padre Extravaganza. She placed second on floor and third on beam at the City of Lights Invitational. At the State Championships, she won beam and floor. She ended her season with a second place all-around finish at Regionals.
She moved up to level nine in 2009. She won floor at the Stars State Qualifier. At the Texas Prime Meet, Emily placed third on beam. She won beam and placed second on floor at the Hardrock Invitational. At the Palm Beach Invitational, she earned her hopes compulsory score. Emily placed second on bars, floor and in the all-around at the Level 9 State Championships. At Regionals, she finished second on beam, floor and the all-around. She placed eighth all-around at Westerns. She finished second on bars and third on floor. In the summer, she competed as a hopes elite. She finished third overall at the US Challenge. She placed second on bars and first on beam.
