Catelyn Orel was born on June 20, 1997. She trained at Rebound Gymnastics in Missouri through the 2008 season. She then moved to GAGE. She will graduate from high school in 2015.
In 2006, Catelyn competed level five. She placed first on floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2007. In 2008, Catelyn competed level seven. She finished third on beam at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She placed second on bars at the Palm Beach Invitational. At Regionals, she placed second on bars and the all-around.
Catelyn competed level nine in 2010. She won floor and placed second all-around at the Kansas City Coed Classic. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Dragon Invitational. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the State Championships. She also placed first on bars and second all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, Catelyn placed third on bars, sixth on beam and fifth all-around. She began competing level ten in 2011. She finished fifth all-around at the AOGC Invitational. She placed second on beam and fourth all-around at the State Championships.
