Kacey Overlund was born on December 14, 1993. She trained at US Airborne through the 2005 season. She then moved to Champion Gymnastics for one year. She has trained at Gedderts' Twistars since the 2007 season. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2005, Kacey competed level six. She moved up to level seven in 2006. She finished second on vault at the Bravo Classic and fourth at the San Diego Classic. She finished her season at the State Championships. She competed level eight in 2007. She had strong performances at the Motown Madness meet and IGI Chicago Style. She finished 12th at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. Kacey continued competing level eight in 2008. She finished 15th all-around at Regionals. In 2009, Kacey placed second all-around at the US Airborne Invitational. She finished fifth at the state Championships. She finished 12th all-around at Regionals.
Kacey moved up to level nine in 2010. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Twistars Invitational. She finished third at the Battle of the Champions and second at the San Diego Classic. She won floor at the State Championships. Kacey placed fifth all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at Easterns.
