Crystal Paz was born on October 20, 1993. She trained at Cal West Gymnastics until 2004. She then moved to Bay Aerials Gymnastics until June 2010. She is now training with California Gymnastics Academy under Neal Gallant and Rod Radunzel. She will graduate from high school in 2011.
In 2003, Crystal competed level five. She won floor at the Begonia Gym Fest and beam at the Far West Invitational. Crystal won vault and floor at the Zone Championships. At the State Championships, she won vault, floor and the all-around. She moved up to level six in 2004. She finished first on beam and second all-around at the Zone Championships. Crystal won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She immediately began competing level seven in 2005. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Wine Country Classic. Crystal won beam and the all-around at the State Championships.
She moved up to level eight in 2006. She finished first on beam at the San Diego Classic. Crystal finished second all-around at the State Championships. She placed sixth all-around at Regionals. In 2007, Crystal won beam at the Lady Luck Invitational and Golden State Classic. She won bars and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed third all-around at Regionals.
Crystal began competing level nine in 2008. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Battle in Seattle. She won beam and the all-around at the Golden State Classic. Crystal won vault, bars and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed second all-around at Regionals. She finished sixth all-around, third on bars, sixth on vault and eighth on floor at Westerns. In 2009, she competed on three events at the State Championships. She won bars at Regionals, but did not competed on vault.
In 2010, Crystal won beam and the all-around at the Golden State Classic. She won vault and beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, Crystal won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. She won beam and the all-around at Westerns. She placed second on vault and beam.
