Emily Michelle Peacock was born to Clyde and Cathy on February 13, 1986. She is the youngest of five children. She has three older sisters: Mandy, Amy and Carissa; and an older brother, Aaron. She trained at USA Aerial Athletics Club during her club career.
Emily competed level ten in 2001. She qualified to the JO Nationals. She finished tenth all-around and sixth on floor. In 2002, she made her second trip to the JO National Championships by winning Regionals. She improved to seventh all-around and third on floor. Emily competed at her third JO Nationals in 2003 after winning Regionals. She finished second on bars and seventh all-around. After the level ten season, she made senior international elite. Emily placed high enough at the US Classic to qualify to the US National Championships. In 2004, she competed as a senior international elite.
She began school at the University of Arkansas in the fall of 2004. She was a three event specialist in her freshman year. She did not compete vault regularly. She was named the Most Consistent Performer for her team. Emily did compete in the all-around. She earned NACGC Scholar Athlete Academic honors. As a sophomore, she set a new bars record. She also competed on beam and floor. During her junior season, she competed on bars, beam and floor in fourteen meets. She won bars at the March 9 Quad Meet. She won eight bar titles. She won beam against Arizona State and Kentucky. She was on the NACGC Academic All-American team. She was also on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. She continued competing on bars, beam and floor as a senior. She won floor against Michigan State and Penn State. She won vault against LSU and Kentucky.
