Erika Pearson was born on February 3, 1990. She trained at Tennessee Academy of Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2008.
In 2002, Erika competed level nine. She finished third on bars at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2003. She won vault at the State Championships. At JO Nationals, she placed sixth on floor. She was named TAG Optional Gymnast of the Year. In 2004, Erika competed at Regionals. She was named TAG Gymnast of the Year. In 2005, Erika finished third all-around at the State Championships. She placed third all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed third on beam. She finished 19th all-around.
Erika won floor at the 2007 Flip Fest Invitational. She finished third on vault and floor at the Buckeye Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second on beam. In 2008, Erika won floor at the Flip Fest Invitational and Buckeye Classic. She won beam at the Gasparilla Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault and floor. As a freshman at Alabama in 2009, Erika competed on floor at a few meets. During her sophomore season, she competed on floor in the first five meets and against Oklahoma. She retired after her sophomore year.
