Mary Kathryn Peck was born on April 5, 1990. She trained at North Bay Athletic Association for most of club career. She trained at Aerials Gymnastics in 2007. She graduated from high school in 2008.

In 2002, Mary competed level seven. In 2003, she placed second all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2004. She finished third all-around at the Sweetheart Invitational. She placed first on beam and second all-around at the State Championships. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. Mary moved up to level nine in 2005. She won vault at the Golden State Classic. She competed on three events at Regionals. In 2006, Mary placed fourth all-around at the Mardi Gras Invitational. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships and top twenty at Regionals.

Mary began competing level ten in 2007. She won vault at the Aerials Invitational. She placed third on floor at the Mardi Gras Invitational. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. In 2008, Mary finished third all-around and first on beam at the Gold Country Classic. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.

As a freshman at Sac State in 2009, Mary competed on vault eight times. She also had several beam performances. In 2010, Mary competed in the first two meets on vault before missing the season due to injuries. She exhibitioned on vault and beam against San Jose State. In 2011, Mary competed on beam nine times. She competed on bars twice in addition to performing one exhibition.
