Emily Pepe was born on October 19, 1995. She trained at Perfect Balance Gymnastics in New Jersey until 2006. She then switched to Parkettes.

In 2003, Emily competed as a level four. At the New Jersey State Championships, sixty athletes competed in her age division. Emily placed in the top twenty! She moved up to level five in 2004. Emily finished third all-around at the Friendship Classic. She competed at States. She did level five again in 2005. Emily finished second all-around at the State Championships. She won beam and floor. Emily also won the Buckeye Classic all-around, vault, beam and floor titles.

With her new gym in 2006, Emily jumped up to level seven. She finished second on vault at the Parkette Invitational. By the end of the season Emily was competing as a level eight. She did well at States. In the late fall of 2006, Emily competed at several meets. She finished fourth all-around at the Rhode Island Invitational and Christmas on the Chesapeake.

In January of 2007, she began competing as a level nine. Emily finished second all-around and third on floor at the Brestyan Invitational. She finished fourth all-around and third on beam at the Level 9 State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In the summer, Emily qualified to hopes pre-elite. She finished in the top twenty at the US Challenge.

Emily continued competing as a level nine in the 2008 season. She qualified to Regionals at the State meet. She finished in the top ten on vault and floor at Regionals.
