Risa Perez was born on August 8, 1994. She trains at Gymcats in Nevada. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2004, Risa competed level five. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2005. She finished fourth all-around at the Gold Medal Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed sixth all-around. Risa began competing level seven in 2006. She finished third all-around at the All Olympia Invitational. She placed fourth at the Cactus Cooler Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed eleventh all-around. Risa continued competing level seven in 2007. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships.

Risa competed level eight in 2008. She finished third all-around at the San Diego Classic. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At Regionals, she finished third all-around and second on bars. Risa moved up to level nine in 2009. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Vegas Cup. She placed third all-around at the Cactus Cooler. At the State Championships, she won bars and the all-around. She placed third all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she won bars. She placed fourth all-around.

She began competing level ten in 2010. She placed third all-around at the San Diego Classic. Risa won beam at the Purple and Gold meet. At the State Championships, she finished second on beam. She placed fourth on floor and sixth all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at JO Nationals.
