Adrianne Perry was born to James Perry and Diane O'Meara on August 18, 1986. She began gymnastics in 1990 when her mom signed her up for a class. She trained at Great American Gymnastics Express during her club career. She graduated from the University of Missouri.
In 2002, she won the level ten state title. She then won Regionals. At the JO National Championships, Adrianne finished second all-around. She also finished second on beam. She did not compete in 2003. In 2004, she finished first at States and Regionals. Adrianne finished sixth all-around at the JO National Championships. Her senior year was in 2005. She finished first all-around at States and Regionals for the third time. At the JO National Championships, Adrianne finished fourth all-around. She was third on vault and beam.
In the fall of 2005, she began attending school at the University of Missouri. She earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors. She won eighth all-around titles, three floor titles, two beam titles and one vault titles. She qualified to the NCAA Championships as an individual. As a sophomore, Adrianne competed again at the NCAA Nationals. She earned All-Big 12 honors on vault, bars and the all-around. She claimed 26 titles. She won seven in the all-around, vault and floor. She won three on bars and two on beam. She was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week twice. She was on the Academic All-Big 12 second-team.
During her junior season, she became Missouri's first gymnast to win the Big 12 all-around title. She also won the first title. She earned All-Big 12 first-team honors on vault, bars, beam and floor. She qualified to her third NCAA Championships. She won seven all-around titles. She also won seventeen event titles. As a senior, she took her second straight Big 12 floor title. She placed second all-around. She earned a spot on the All-Big 12 floor squad. She took eight floor titles. At the NCAA Championships, she became an all-around All-American. She earned second-team honors on floor.
