Kirsten Petzold was born on June 9, 1994. She trains at Olympia Gymnastics Academy in Michigan. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2004, Kirsten competed level seven. She placed third on vault at the Sweetheart Invite. She moved up to level eight in 2005. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. Kirsten competed level nine in 2007. She finished third all-around at the Motown Madness meet. She finished sixth all-around at Easterns. She also placed tenth on vault and eighth on floor. In 2008, Kiersten competed at the Motown Madness meet. Kirsten did not compete in 2009.

Kirsten began competing level ten in 2010. She placed third on beam at the GA Coaches Spectacular. She finished third on floor at the Sand Dollar Invitational. Kirsten competed on beam and floor at the State and Regional Championships. In 2011, Kirsten finished third on vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She placed second all-around at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. Kiersten finished second on beam at both the IGI Chicago Style and Motown Madness meet. Kirsten placed second on floor at the State Championships. She finished seventh all-around at Regionals. At JO nationals, Kirsten finished 26th all-around.
