Olivia Pickering was born on March 8, 1995. Her younger sister, Kristen is also a gymnast. Olivia trained at Kips School of Gymnastics through the 2005 season. She then moved to Lanier's Gymnastics for three years before her family opened Olympic Warrior Gymnastics in 2008. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2004, Olivia competed level four. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level five in 2005. She finished first on vault, beam and the all-around at the Gatlinburg Classic. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. Olivia competed level seven in 2006. She finished third on bars at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She placed third all-around at the State Championships. Olivia began competing level eight in 2007. She finished third on beam at the State Championships. In 2008, she finished first on beam and second on floor at the State Championships. She finished in the top twenty at Regionals.

Olivia continued competing level eight in 2009. She finished first all-around at the Alamo Classic. At the Purple and Gold meet, she placed second on vault and bars. Olivia finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She placed second on bars at Regionals. She began competing level nine in 2010. She won beam at the Presidential Classic. At the Auburn Classic, she won vault. She placed third all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2011, she won vault, beam and the all-around at the Warrior Challenge. She finished second on vault at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Metroplex Challenge, she finished third on bars. She won bars at both the Jazz Invitational and Gasparilla Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars and second all-around. She won beam at Regionals.
