Ellen Pitluck was born on September 9, 1990. She trained at Chicago Park District through the 2000 season. She then moved to Illinois Gymnastics Institute. She graduated from high school in 2009.
In 2000, Ellen competed level seven. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She began competing level nine in 2002. She finished second on bars at the 2003 State Championships. Ellen competed level ten in 2005. She finished in the top twenty at both the State and Regional Championships. In 2006, Ellen finished second on floor at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2007, Ellen finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. She placed third all-around at the 2008 Bravo Classic. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Gasparilla Classic. At the Flip'r meet, she placed second on bars. Ellen finished fourth on bars at JO Nationals. In 2009, Ellen competed at JO Nationals.
Ellen redshirted her 2010 season due to an elbow injury. She began collegiate competition in 2011. She competed beam five times and exhibtioned four times.
