Stephanie Ponich was born on September 21, 1992. She will graduate high school in 2010. She trains at Gymnastics East in Washington.
In 2002, Stephanie competed as a level four. She competed at the Octoberfest and Seattle Sectionals. She continued competing as a level four in 2003. She won vault and the all-around title at the Mystery Classic. She finished third on bars at the Desert Devils Classic. At Seattle Sectionals, she won beam and finished third all-around! Stephanie jumped up to level six in 2004. She finished fifth all-around at the Desert Devils Classic. At Level Six Sectionals, she finished fourth on bars.
Her first year as an optional was in 2005. She finished sixth all-around at the Cancun Classic as a level seven. She finished in the top ten at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the Pajama Classic, Stephanie won the all-around and bars titles! She won bars at States. She also finished third all-around. She advanced to level eight in 2006. She finished second all-around at the Blooms and Blossoms meet. She won bars. At States, Stephanie won bars. She qualified to Regionals. She ended her season at Regionals.
Stephanie moved up to level nine in 2007. She finished fourth all-around at the Great West Gymfest. She won the all-around title at Blooms and Blossoms. At States, she qualified for Regionals. Stephanie placed in the top ten at Regionals. This qualified her for Westerns. She moved up to level ten in 2008. Stephanie placed sixth all-around at the Great West Gymfest. At States, she finished third all-around. After a rough bar routine, Stephanie finished tenth all-around at Regionals. She finished fourth on vault. She started her 2009 season with a third place finish at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She then competed at the Surf City Classic. Stephanie also participated in the Great West Gym Fest. She did not compete at States or Regionals.
