Aimee Precourt was born on December 28, 1985 in Edwards Air Force Base, California. Even though she was born in California, Aimee considers Pasadena, Texas her home town. She is the daughter of Charles and Lynne. Aimee has three sisters who are all older. She trained at Champion Gymnastics Academy.
She competed level ten for several years. Aimee traveled to California for the California Classic in 2003. She placed ninth all-around. She placed 8th on vault and floor too! To qualify for the JO Nationals Aimee needed to place in the top seven at the Region 3 Championships. She did better then that and finished second. Her first level 10 nationals were in 2003. She placed 13th all-around. Her top event finishes were on vault and beam, both 12th place. Aimee competed at the Houston National Invite in 2004. She finished in third behind two of her teammates, Angela Walker and Michelle Browning. Earlier that season, Aimee had competed at the Kurt Thomas Invite. She only did three events but placed second on beam! Aimee repeated her performance at the 2003 Regionals in 2004. At the regional championships she placed second all-around, second on vault and second on floor. Aimee had qualified herself to her second JO Nationals. At the 2004 Junior Olympics Aimee placed 17th all-around. She had a fourth place finish on floor.
In the fall of 2004, Aimee moved to California to enroll at Stanford University. Her first collegiate meet was against Washington. Aimee just competed bars. Her next meet was at Central Michigan. She scored a 9.7 on floor. Aimee did floor at University of Arizona also. She tied a career-high on floor at Arizona State University. She also competed for the first team on beam in Arizona. Aimee did beam and floor at the Utah Quad. She improved her career-high to a 9.8 on floor against Alabama. Aimee did vault for the first time against San Jose State scoring a 9.625. Also, at San Jose she competed on beam and floor. At the 2005 Pac-10 Championships Aimee placed 12th on floor. Her first all-around meet was at the West Regional.
As a sophomore, she competed on beam and floor. She earned Academic All-American status and was an All Pac-10 Academic honoree. During her junior season she competed on beam mainly. She performed one floor routine. She earned her third NACGC All-American honor. She was named Cardinal Gymnast of the Year. As a senior, she earned a spot on the Pac-10 All-Academic first-team. She competed on beam.
