Alyssa Pritchett was born on June 22, 1990. She has two brothers and one sister. She trained at Kips Gymnastics. Alyssa moved to Wildfire after its opening in 2003.

In 2000, Alyssa finished fifth all-around out of 43 at the Level 6 State Championships. She won vault and placed second on uneven bars. She competed level seven in 2001. Alyssa won vault and bars at the State Championships. She qualified for Level 8 Regionals in 2002. In 2003, Alyssa competed level nine. She won bars, beam, and the all-around at the Shamrock Invitational. She ended her season at Regionals. Alyssa continued competing level nine in 2004 and 2005. She placed third all-around at the 2005 Level 9 State Championships. She had a strong performance at Regionals, placing fifteenth.

Alyssa moved up to level ten in 2006. She won vault and bars and placed second all-around at the Spirals Invitational. She took second place on vault and bars at the All Olympia Invitational. In 2007, Alyssa finished third all-around at the IGHOF Invitational. She placed second all-around at the California Classic. At the Top Flight Invite, Alyssa won vault and the all-around. She finished second on floor at States. She ended her season by placing eleventh all-around at Regionals. During her final year as a club gymnast in 2008, she placed second all-around at the Spirals Invitational. Unfortunately, an injury hampered her from competing. She was able to run track for her high school, winning the league title in the long jump.

As a freshman at UCLA, Alyssa competed on vault against Utah. She exhibitioned on vault and floor. During her sophomore season, Alyssa competed on vault and floor twice. She missed her junior season in 2011 due to ankle surgery.
