Bethany Pupava was born on June 29, 1994. She trained at Tumbletown Gymnastics until 2006. She then moved to Max for one season. Since 2008, Bethany has competed for Metropolitan Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2003, Bethany began competing level four. She finished second on vault at the Goblin Cup. She continued competing level four in 2004. Bethany won floor at the Mystery Classic. She finished first on floor and third all-around at the State Championships. Bethany competed level five in 2005. She finished third on floor at the Pajama Classic. She competed level seven in 2007. She finished third on bars at the Gym Express Invite. Bethany won vault and floor at the Pajama Classic. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships.

Bethany began competing level eight in 2008. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Seattle Open. She placed second all-around at the State Championships. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. In 2009, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Great West Gym Fest. She also finished first on bars, floor and the all-around at the Rose City Classic. She won floor and the all-around titles at the State Championships.

She moved up to level nine in 2010. She won bars, beam, and the all-around at the Battle in Seattle. She placed second on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, Bethany placed third all-around and first on bars. She finished third on floor and ninth all-around at Westerns.
