Jenna Rachels was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 16, 1994. She is the daughter of Cathy and Rusty. She has a brother named Tyler. She began gymnastics at the age of four years old. She began competing as a level two at the age of five with paris School of Performing Acts. She trained there until reaching level eight. Jenna then moved to Gwinnett Gymnastics Center. She followed her coaches to Gymnastix and then World Xtreme in Georgia. They then moved to Olympia Gymnastics in July of 2008.
In 2004, she competed as a level eight. She finished fourth on beam at the Hilton Head Invitational. Jenna moved up to level nine in 2005. She finished third all-around at the Hilton Head Invitational. At the Georgia State Championships, she finished sixth all-around. She qualified for Regionals.
Jenna moved up to level ten in 2006. She competed at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. At the IGI Chicago Style, she finished second on beam and floor. An elbow injury kept her out of most of the level ten season. She competed in the hopes divison at the US Challenge in July 2006. In 2007, Jenna qualified to international elite. She recently qualified to the US National Championships.
She began 2008 at the Lady Luck Invitational. She finished third all-around and second on bars and floor. At the Parkette Invitational, she won bars, floor and the all-around. In February, she qualified to the US Classic at a training camp. Jenna returned from being injured in November at the Music City Invitational. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. In February of 2009, she won a silver medal on bars, beam and the all-around at the Flip Fest Invitational. In April, she had surgery on her knee. She also decided to return to Gwinnett Gymnastics. In 2010, Jenna finished second on bars and beam at the Spring Break-Out. She placed second on bars at the State Championships.
