Britney Ranzy was born to Donna and Charles on February 3, 1990. She trained at Excalibur until 2003. Shortly before the US Classic, she switched to World Class. She moved to Maryland to train with Kelli Hill in 2003. After the 2006 US National Championships, she switched back to Excalibur Gymnastics. Britney was on the National TOPs Team in 1998.
In 2001, she competed as a level nine. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2002. Britney finished fifth all-around at Regionals. She won vault. By placing in the top seven, she qualified for the JO National Championships. Britney competed at JO Nationals. She qualified to child national elite after the meet. She competed at the US Challenge. Britney won the optional portion of the meet. In 2003, she competed at some open invitationals. She qualified to junior international elite. Britney competed at the US Classic. In 2004, Britney competed as a junior pre-elite at the American Challenge. She finished third overall. This qualified her as a member of the National Training Squad.
Shortly after the American Challenge, Britney re-qualified to junior international elite. At the US Classic, she finished eighth all-around. Unfortunately, she could not compete at the US National Championships. In 2005, she competed at some open invitationals in the spring. She won the Parkette Invitational. The elite season started in July. Britney finished seventh all-around at the US Classic. She also won vault. At the first day of the US National Championships, Britney was in the top ten all-around. She was also leading vault. Unfortunately, the next day she dislocated her elbow on uneven bars.
Her first year as a senior international elite was in 2006. She qualified to Nationals at a national team training camp. She did not compete at the US Classic. At the US National Championships, she finished 13th all-around! Britney missed the national team by one spot. She was invited to the World Selection Camp. In 2007, Britney competed at the US Classic. She had a good year in 2008. She finished 14th all-around at US Nationals. She placed second on vault. She earned an invitation to the Olympic Trials. She only competed on vault and floor at the Olympic Trials. Britney competed at the US Classic in 2009. In November, she signed with Oregon State.
As a freshman at Oregon State, Britney earned All-Pac-10 First-Team honors on vault. She earned six event titles on vault out of the nine times she performed. Britney also competed on floor. At NCAA Regionals, she won vault and floor. Britney left Oregon State after her freshman year. She will join LSU in January of 2012.
