Paisley Read was born on February 21, 1992. She trained at USA Gymnastics World through the 2003 season. She then moved to Rocky Mountain Gymnastics. After the 2005 season, Paisley moved to GTC. She began training at North Davis before the 2008 season. Paisley trained at Olympus during her senior season in 2010. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2002, Paisley competed level six. She finished third on beam at the Flips USA Invitational. Paisley moved up to level seven in 2003. She placed fourth all-around and second on floor at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2004. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. Paisley placed in the top twenty at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2005. She did not compete at the State Championships.

Paisley continued competing level nine in 2006. She won beam at the Starz and Stripes Invitational. She finished second at the State Championships. She placed in the top fifteen at Regionals. In 2007, Paisley finished third at the Lady Luck Invitational. She won vault and beam at the State Championships. She finished fifteenth at Regionals. Paisley moved up to level ten for the 2008 season. She won vault and bars at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.

She continued competing level ten in 2009. She finished sixth at the State Championships. In 2010, Paisley finished third on bars at the Red Heart 10.0 Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Vegas Cup. She placed second all-around at the State Championships. Paisley finished fifth all-around at Regionals. She qualified for JO Nationals.
