Melissa Reinstadtler was born on June 30, 1998. She trained at Twisters Gymnastics until 2008. She then moved to Rebound Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2016.
In 2007, Melissa competed level five. She won vault at the State Championships. She placed second on floor and third all-around. Melissa competed level six in 2008. She finished first on bars and floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. Melissa competed level seven in the fall of 2008. She made the National TOPs "B" Team. She finished fifth all-around at the Pumpkin Cup. She won vault at the Level 7 Sectional. At the Rutgers Classic, she won floor. She placed second all-around at the Christmas City Classic. Melissa competed level eight in 2009. She finished in the top ten at the Parkette Invitational. She finished second on bars at the WOGA Classic. At the Excalibur Cup, she placed fourth on floor. She finished second on beam at the State Championships.
Melissa began competing level nine in 2010. She finished second all-around at the Rutgers Color Games. She finished fourth on vault and floor at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She placed fourth all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At the Buckeye Classic, she won the all-around title. She finished fourth all-around at the Rutgers Twilight Knight Invite. She finished in the top twenty at the State and Regional Championships. In 2011, Melissa finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She placed second on beam and third on floor at Regionals. Melissa competed at Easterns. She competed in elite qualifiers in Florida and Texas. She received an invitation to the elite training camp.
