Katie Renecker was born to Laurie Renecker on June 21, 1991. She trained at United Sports Academy until 2005. She then moved to Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC). She graduated from Lincoln High School in 2009.
In 2002, she competed as a level eight. Katie placed first on floor at Regionals! She moved up to level nine in 2003. She finished fourth all-around at the Vegas Vacation meet. She qualified for Westerns. Katie moved up to level ten in 2004,. She won the state all-around, floor and beam titles. In 2005, she finished second all-around and first on bars at States. She just missed qualifying for the JO National Championships.
Katie had a great 2006 season. She finished first on bars, beam, floor and in the all-around at States! At Regionals, she finished fifth all-around. This qualified her for the JO National Championships! Katie continued competing as a level ten in 2007. She finished second all-around at the IG Hall of Fame Classic. She also finished second at the MAC Open. At States, Katie won the beam and all-around titles. She finished third all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at JO Nationals.
She continued competing level ten in 2008. She finished fifth all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the MAC Open, she placed first on beam and floor. She finished second all-around. At the Golden State Classic, she placed third on bars and second on floor. She finished second on beam at States. Katie placed sixth all-around at Regionals. She did not compete vault at JO Nationals. Katie did not compete in 2009. In 2010, she finished third on beam at the All American Invitational and third on floor at the Return of the Titans meet. She finished third all-around at Regionals. Katie competed at JO Nationals. As a freshman at Fullerton in 2011, Katie competed in all nine meets on beam. She finished second on beam at Utah State and third against Sacramento State.
