Emily Richardson was born on June 29, 1994. She trained at Flame Gymnastics in Arkansas before moving to WOGA in the fall of 2007.
In 2007, Emily competed level eight. She qualified for the Regional Championships where she placed sixth on vault. She moved up to level nine in 2008. Emily placed second all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won vault. She again finished second at both the AOGC Invitational and Texas Prime Meet. At States, she won vault and placed second all-around. She again finished second all-around and first on vault at Regionals.
Emily moved up to level ten in 2009. She qualified for the Legendz Classic at the Texas Prime meet. At the Great West Gym Fest, she finished second all-around. She won floor. She placed second on floor at the Byers Invitational. At States, she won beam and finished third on vault. She was fourth all-around. At Regionals, she won a silver medal on bars. In 2010, Emily started her season at the WOGA Classic and finished fourth in the all-around and third on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. At the Houston National Invitational, she placed second on balance beam and fourth in the all-around. Emily did well at the Level 10 State Championships where she placed second in the all-around and first on balance beam. She concluded her 2010 season at the Level 10 Regionals finishing tenth in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars.
Emily started her 2011 season at the IGI Chicago Style where she finished fifth in the all-around and third on vault and uneven bars. She competed at the WOGA National Elite Qualifier where she went 4 for 4 and placed second on balance beam and floor exercise. At the Houston National Invitational, she finished third on uneven bars and second on balance beam. She was unable to compete the rest of the 2011 season due to an injury.
