Emily Rickman was born on September 6, 1995. She trains at Texas East Gymnastics under Martin and Stacy Parsley. She will graduate from high school in 2013. Emily is currently ranked eighth in her class of about 650 despite skipping eighth grade!
In 2005, Emily competed level seven. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2006. She placed fifth all-around and second on beam at Regionals. She broke her wrist in September of 2006. She recovered in time to compete level nine in the 2007 season. She placed in the top twenty five at Regionals. Emily continued competing level nine in 2008. She qualified for Westerns where she placed 13th out of 49 competitors in the all-around. In November, Emily suffered an accident at church and had to miss three months of training. She began training in early February. In March, she finished first all-around at the Rose City Classic. She placed third all-around at the State Championships. She placed second on beam. At Regionals, Emily won vault. She ended her season with a third place finish at Westerns. She also placed third on vault and bars.
Emily moved up to level ten in 2010. She won the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed second all-around and first on beam at the WOGA Classic. At the Rose City Classic, she won vault, beam and floor. Emily placed in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed ninth all-around. She ended her season at the JO National Invitational Tournament. She finished third all-around. In 2011, Emily finished fourth in the all-around at regionals to qualify to the JO National Championships. She ended her season at JO Nationals in Long Beach, California.
