Christina Salavec was born on December 18, 1991. She began gymnastics at the age of five. She trains at Gold Medal Gymnastics Center in New York. Her favorite event is floor.

In 2001, she competed as a level six. She won the all-around state title. Christina jumped up to level eight in 2002. She won the Regional all-around title. In 2003, she won beam at Level 9 Regionals. She competed at Easterns. Christina continued competing as a level nine in 2004. She won the all-around, beam, and floor state titles. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. She competed at Easterns.

Christina's best season as a level nine was in 2005. She won the New York State all-around, bars, beam, and floor titles! At Regionals, she won the all-around, beam and floor titles. She ended her season at Easterns. Christina won the all-around title! She also won beam and floor.

She moved up to level ten for the 2006 season. She finished third all-around at Regionals. This qualified her for the JO National Championships. At JO Nationals, she finished third on floor. In 2007, Christina won Regionals! She also finished first on bars and beam. She did not compete on vault at JO Nationals. She finished sixth on beam and ninth on floor. In 2008, she finished second on vault and bars at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In November, she signed with Arizona State.

She finished third all-around at the Qualifying Kick-Off in December of 2008. In January, she won a bronze medal on bars at the Brestyan Invitational. She finished second all-around at the Parkettes Invitational. She won floor. She finished third all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She won bars. At the Little Bigger Invitational, she placed fourth all-around. At States, she won beam. She finished second all-around. At States, she placed second all-around. She won uneven bars. She ended her season at JO Nationals. She finished 29th all-around.
