Samantha Saltess was born on October 29, 1991. She trained at Palatine Gymnastics until 2005. She now competes for her high school.

In 2000, she competed as a level five. She did level five again in 2001. She finished second all-around and first on vault at States! Samantha moved up to level six in 2002. She won the Illinois State Championships! By 2004, she was competing as a level eight. She qualified to Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2005. Sam now competes for her high school. She competed on the varsity level all four years. She was team captain her senior year. At Regionals, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She was named an Illinois State Scholar. She will be attending the University of Iowa.
