Kaitlin Sassa was born on October 18, 1993. She trained at Spirit Gymnastics through the 2007 season. She then moved to Silvia's Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2004, she competed level five. She finished sixth all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She moved up to level six in 2005. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She competed level eight in 2007. She finished third on vault at the Buckeye Classic. She moved up to level nine in 2008. She finished 11th all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Easterns.

Kaitlin began competing level ten in 2009. She won beam at the State Championships. She finished in the top twenty at Regionals. In 2010, Kaitlin finished third at the Maryland Classic. She placed second all-around at the Silvia Invitational. She finished second on floor at the Pink Invitational. Kaitlin placed in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she qualified for the JO National Invitational Tournament. In 2011, Kaitlin finished third on floor at the Presidential Classic. She placed second all-around at the Pink Invitational. She finished second on vault at the State Championships. Kaitlin finished eleventh all-around at Regionals. At the JO National Invitational Tournament, she placed second on vault, third on beam and second all-around.
