Summer Barrett was born on July 15, 1997. She trains at Auburn Gymnastics Center. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2006, Summer competed level five. She won the all-around title at the Vegas Vacation. She placed fifth all-around at the Spring State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2007. Summer competed level seven in 2008. She finished in the top twenty all-around at the State Championships. She began competing level eight in 2009. She finished third all-around at the MAC Open. She placed second on floor at the State Championships.

Summer continued competing level eight in 2010. She won vault and the all-around titles at the All American Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Emerald Team Challenge. Summer placed first on vault, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault and the all-around!
