Amanda Scanlon was born on September 1, 1995. She trains at New England Gymnastics Express. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2007, Amanda competed level eight. She finished second on vault at the American Flyers Cup. She placed second on vault at the Northeast Invite. At Regionals, she finished third on vault. She finished 15th all-around. Amanda continued competing level eight in 2008. She placed third all-around at the American Flyers Cup. She finished 23rd all-around at Regionals. She decided to take a break from gymnastics after the season.

Amanda returned to competition in 2010 for both her high school team and as a level eight. She won floor at the State Championships. She finished fourth all-around. At Regionals, she placed second on vault and fourth all-around. Amanda moved up to level nine in 2011. She finished first on vault at the Team Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed first on beam. Amanda finished third all-around at Regionals.
