Emily Schein was born on March 14, 1996. She trained at Dallas Gymnastics Center until the spring of 2007. Following the gym's closure in 2007, Emily began training at WOGA. Currently, Emily trains at WOGA under Yevgeny Marchenko and Laurie Dix. She will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2004, Emily made the TOPs National Diamond Team. She made the National TOPs Team in both 2005 and 2006. In 2005, Emily competed level seven. She won beam and the all-around at the Riverwalk Classic. At the Level 7 State Championships, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Emily moved up to level eight in 2007. She finished second all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won floor. At Regionals, Emily finished second all-around. She won floor.
Emily moved up to level nine in 2008. She won a bronze medal on beam at the Dragon Invitational and a silver medal on beam at the WOGA Classic. At States, Emily finished third on floor. She repeated this result at Regionals. In 2009, she began competing level ten. She finished third all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Houston National Invitational, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. At the State Championships, she finished second on beam. Emily placed third on bars and sixth all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at JO Nationals. In 2010, Emily won bars at the Texas Prime Meet. At the Metroplex Challenge, she earned her international elite compulsory score. She did not compete all events in the optional portion because of an ankle injury. In March, Emily returned to placed in the top ten at the Houston National Invitational. She won a bronze medal on beam.
