Jamie Schleppenbach was born on March 25, 1992. She trained at Solid Rock Gymnastics through the 2008 season. She then moved to Nebraska School of Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2010.
In 2003, Jamie competed level eight. She finished second on bars and seventh all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2004. She competed at Regionals. In 2005, Jamie finished first all-around at Regionals. She placed sixth on bars, third on floor and fifth all-around at Westerns. Jamie finished first all-around at Regionals in 2006. She placed tenth all-around at Westerns. She also placed ninth on bars and tenth on floor. Jamie did not compete in 2007.
Jamie began competing level ten in 2008. She finished eleventh all-around at Regionals. With her new gym in 2009, Jamie won vault at Regionals. She placed second all-around. At JO Nationals, she finished 21st all-around. In 2010, Jamie finished fourth on bars at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed second on beam at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed fourth on vault. She finished 28th all-around.
As a freshman at Nebraska, Jamie earned two vault titles throughout the year. She also competed on beam and floor. Jamie was honored as Big 12 Newcomer of the Week twice. She earned All-Big 12 Championship Team honors on vault in addition to earning All-Big 12 accolades. At the NCAA Championships, she earned first-team All-American honors on vault. Jamie earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
