Haley Sedgewick was born on September 10, 1992. She trained at AGA Gymnastics in Michigan through the 2009 season. She then moved to Oakland Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2011.

In 2005, Haley competed level eight. She competed at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2006. She finished first on beam and seventh all-around at Regionals. She competed at Easterns. In 2007, Haley finished first on beam at Regionals. She placed third on beam and ninth all-around at Easterns. Haley began competing level ten in 2008. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Totally Rad meet. At the Motown Madness meet, she placed second all-around. She finished second on floor at the State Championships. Haley competed on three events at the IGI Chicago Style in 2009.

Haley placed second on floor at the 2010 San Diego Classic. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished third all-around at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. Haley placed in the top fifteen at Regionals. At the JO National Invitational Tournament, she finished seventh all-around. In 2011, Haley finished first on bars and the all-around at the Circle of Stars meet. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. Haley won vault at the Presidential Classic. She placed second all-around at the Motown Madness meet and All American Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished first on floor and second all-around. Haley placed fourth all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished eighth on vault and eleventh all-around. She finished in the top twenty on bars, beam and floor.
