Symone Griffin was born on April 26, 1996. She trained at Cascade Elite Gymnastics until the summer of 2007. She then moved to Leading Edge Gymnastics. She began training at Auburn Gymnastics Center in the summer of 2010. Symone will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2004, Symone competed level four. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She competed level six in 2006. She finished second on beam at the Pajama Classic. Symone competed level seven in 2007. She won floor at the Hard Rock Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed third on floor. Symone moved up to level eight in 2008. She finished second on floor at the national Judges Cup. She placed third all-around at the Battle in Seattle. Symone finished second all-around at the Emerald Team Challenge. At the State Championships, she finished eleventh all-around. In 2009, Symone won the all-around titles at both the Crystal Cup and Emerald Team Challenge. She placed first on beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She was a member of the Level 8 State Team.
Symone moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished fourth all-around at the Battle in Seattle. She won beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, Symone finished first on beam and second all-around. She placed fourth on bars, first on beam and fifth all-around at Westerns. In 2011, Symone finished third on bars at the MAC Open. She finished fifth all-around and first on beam at the State Championships. She won beam and the all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed fourth on beam.
