Sarah Shaffer was born on November 12, 1997. She trains at Texas East Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2016.
In 2008, Sarah competed level seven. She finished first all-around at the Magical Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second on beam and third all-around. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She finished second on vault at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Rose City Classic, she finished third all-around. Sarah finished in the top twenty-five at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished in the top twenty all-around.
Sarah continued competing level eight in 2010. She won vault and bars at the Ricky Deci Invitational. At the Lady Luck Invitational, she placed second on floor. Sarah won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Gumbo Cup. She placed third all-around at the WOGA Classic. At the Rose City Classic, Sarah won vault, bars and floor. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, Sarah finished first on vault, third on bars and fourth all-around!
Sarah moved up to level nine in 2011. She placed second on bars at the Tiger Classic. At the Denver Winterfest, she won vault, floor and the all-around.
